Our Strategy

Our OSEP Strategy is situated within the Oceania National Olympic Committees’ (ONOC) Strategic Framework. We are a sport education programme that belongs to ONOC and its 17 member National Olympic Committees (NOCs), hence this alignment.

We were privileged in that ONOC under the advice of the ONOC Education Commission and its own management, commissioned an Independent Evaluation of OSEP which was conducted jointly by Compass Pasifika (CP) and The APEX - Global Sports Solutions (CP & APEX-GSG) in 2020.

The in-depth exercise emerged a set of recommendations which the ONOC Executive and Management, the ONOC Management and OSEP Team have taken on board to inform the development of the OSEP Strategy 2021 - 2024 under guidance from CP & APEX GSG.

Following table provides a summary of our OSEP Role, Function and Approach and offers context to the new strategy.

Our Vision is for OSEP to be a ‘high quality sport education programme that sets industry standards in the Pacific region and is recognised as the benchmark for the Continental regions of the Olympic world.’

Our Strategy is three-pronged and includes the following: Organisational structure and functions; Sports sector industry standards; and Sports qualifications training provider.
